Recently VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda have altered the cambelt replacement schedule from what was originally printed in the car's service book! VAG now recommend that belts are replaced on most diesel engines every four years (irrespective of mileage) or 60,000 miles - whichever comes first. On the petrol engines it's every five years (irrespective of mileage) or 60,000 miles - whichever comes first.
